Fatima Mission 5: The Third Secret & Conclusion

The DIVINE Wayfarer

“The image of the disciples on the way to Emmaus can serve as a fitting guide for a Year when the Church will be particularly engaged in living out the mystery of the Holy Eucharist. Amid our questions and difficulties, and even our BITTER disappointments, the DIVINE Wayfarer continues to walk at our side, opening to us the Scriptures and leading us to a DEEPER understanding of the MYSTERIES of God. When we meet him fully, we will pass from the light of the Word to the light streaming from the “Bread of life”, the supreme fulfilment of his PROMISE to “be with us always, to the end of the age” (cf. Mt 28:20). Supreme Pontiff John Paul II (October 2004- October 2005) Apostolic Letter Mane Nobiscum Domine.  Libreria Editrice Vaticana.

JMJ

The VERY DEPTHS of God’s Redeeming Love comes forth from the Heart of Christ Himself.  For it is in His very image as Beloved Son that we learn of the INTIMATE ENCOUNTER of Love Himself.  When faced with our own difficulties and questions, and even our BITTER disappointments, LOVE REDEEMS!  The Divine Wayfarer listens to our broken hearts and walks at our side hidden in the darkness of FAITH.  Our HEARTS BURN for love of Him, seeking Him and knowing Him in the light of the WORD, the Eternal WORD and we are renewed once again in a Hope that knows no bound.  The supreme fulfillment of His PROMISE comes alive in us and His DIVINE and INTIMATE PRESENCE comes streaming into our Hearts as a living water of Divine Grace.  “I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Mt 28:20).  The MYSTERY of the HOLY EUCHARIST is the PROMISE!  We are no longer alone.  God is with us.  No longer is the presence of darkness consuming, for the LIGHT of the WORLD has overcome all bitterness and all sorrow.  He is the LIFEGIVING BREAD that comes down from Heaven.  He is the ONE and the ONLY LOVER of SOULS that continues to walk at our side opening to us the LIVING FLAME of DIVINE LOVE spoken through the WORD, the ETERNAL WORD who dwelt among us.

O Heart of my Heart, all consumed by the FIRE of Your Divine Love, I am never alone amidst the many trials that come forth in this Vale of Tears.  For Your PROMISE is ETERNAL and Your REDEEMING LOVE fulfills all the desires of my heart.  For what God would be so gracious as to come to me in the form of BREAD, so that I may LIVE and LIVE to the FULLEST!  I tell you, ONLY the ONE TRUE GOD would bring forth such a MYSTERY of UNION.  God from God, Light from Light, True God from True God would bring forth His INCARNATE WORD to live among us and remain with us forever in the PROMISE, the PROMISE fulfilled in the Most Holy EUCHARIST!

Christ, Redeemer and Love of my Soul, guard and protect Your Sacred Priests and LIVE among them as their ONLY LOVE!  For it is through their ANNOINTED HANDS that You come ALIVE in us again and again through the Holy EUCHARIST!  O Mother of Priests, pray for us and embrace all who have answered the CALL to the Sacral Vocation of Holy Orders.  Amen.

The JOYFUL Song of MARY

Mary lived with HER EYES FIXED ON CHRIST, treasuring his every word: “She kept all these things, pondering them in her heart” (Lk 2:19; cf. 2:51). The memories of Jesus, impressed upon her HEART, were always with her, leading her to reflect on the various moments of her life at her Son's side. In a way those memories were to be the “rosary” which she recited uninterruptedly throughout her earthly life.

Even now, amid the JOYFUL SONGS OF THE HEAVENLY JERUSALEM, the reasons for her THANKSGIVING and PRAISE remain unchanged. They inspire her maternal concern for the pilgrim Church, in which she continues to relate her personal account of the Gospel. Mary constantly sets before the faithful the “mysteries” of her Son, with the desire that the CONTEMPLATION of those mysteries will release all their SAVING POWER. In the recitation of the ROSARY, the Christian community enters into contact with the memories and the contemplative gaze of Mary. Supreme Pontiff John Paul II (2002)  Apostolic Letter Rosarium Virginis Mariae.  Libreria Editrice Vaticana

JMJ

The SAVING POWER of GOD will forever RESOUND in the HEARTS of those who ponder the WORD of GOD, Eternal Begotten Son of the Father; for it is in this SAVING POWER that the JOYFUL SONG of MARY brings forth the abundant GLORY of the HEAVENLY JERUSALEM!  In Mary, we find the Maternal Care of a Mother who knows all and sees all that the Eternal Father has planned in the Eternal Salvation of Mankind.  For it is in her that the Gospel of Christ speaks to the hearts of children who SEEK the PRAISE and GLORY of the Most Omnipotent Creator of all the Earth!  For in the HEART of the IMMACULATE, we find the pondering of the ETERNAL WORD made Flesh and are ever more UNITED to the LIVING REALITY of HIS MEMORY recited uninterruptedly in the EXULTATION of the MOST HOLY ROSARY!  A contemplation of the Divine Gifts HIDDEN in the HEART of MARY who REJOICES in GOD her SAVIOR!

REJOICE, O Virgin Mary, REJOICE!  For your SAVIOR has brought forth the ETERNAL SALVATION of those who have been elected to share in His ETERNAL GLORY!  For through You, O Mary, we FIND our REFUGE as the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION who bore the ETERNAL WORD made FLESH for all HUMANITY to adore and embrace with the HEART and FAITH of Your MOST CONTEMPLATIVE HEART!  A heart so UNITED to YOUR ETERNAL FATHER that the Most HOLY and OMNIPOTENT GOD dwelleth with thee in the womb of YOUR MATERNAL BOSOM contemplating thee and gazing upon the FACE of CHRIST, the Only Begotten Son of the Father!

REJOICE, O Virgin Mary, REJOICE!  For the SAVING POWER of the Eternal Word made Flesh has been released upon those who reflect on the MYSTERIES of your Divine Son trusting with CONFIDENT HOPE, the exultation of the Most Holy Rosary brings forth a PRAISE and THANKSGIVING to the Eternal Father; a GLORIFICATION of the Most Holy and TRIUNE GOD!  A power that BRINGS FORTH an ABUNDANCE of DIVINE GRACE to heal the brokenhearted and grant hope to the downtrodden.  For the ETERNAL WORD, contemplated into being through the overshadowing of the Holy Ghost we are evermore UNITED to the JOYFUL SONGS of the HEAVENLY JERUSALEM!  For the JOY we find in CHRIST is a POWER that illuminates the HEART towards that of the ETERNAL GLORY made for the Sons of God!  Glory and Praise to the Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost!

O Mother Immaculate, having CONTEMPLATED the mysteries of Your Divine Son we are more in the KNOWLEDGE of a GOD so humble and yet SO GRAND that no EYE can see and EAR can hear what God has planned for those who love HIM!  The JOY of the Heavenly Jerusalem beckons the hearts of your children ever UNITED to your Immaculate Heart through the GLORIOUS MYSTERIES of the Most Holy Rosary!  REJOICING in these Divine MYSTERIES we place the hopes of our longing HEARTS and contemplate ever more the pondering of your Immaculate Heart through the Power of the UNENDING RECITATION of the HAIL MARY!  FIXING our EYES on the Eternal Word made Flesh, we renew our LOVE for YOU, O Mary, for in you we find the INDWELLING of the Only Begotten Son, the SAVIOR and SALVATION of All Mankind.  REJOICE, O Virgin Mary, REJOICE!

Mother of the Eternal Word, pray for us who have recourse to thee.  Amen.

The Cross of CHRIST

“The wellspring of reconciliation, John Paul writes, is the cross of Christ.  Its vertical beam symbolizes the human need for reconciliation with God, and its horizontal crossbeam represents the need for reconciliation with the human family.  Because the church is the Body of Christ, its “central task” is “reconciling people:  with God, with themselves, with neighbor, with the whole of creation.”  One of the ways the church lives out that ministry of reconciliation is to remind the world of the reality of sin.  For reconciliation is impossible without naming the evil that had caused division and rupture in the first place.”  Witness to Hope by George Weigel

JMJ

The Cross of Christ reflects the vertical and horizontal aspect of reconciliation for humanity; reconciliation with the God of Mercy and reconciliation with the human family.  In order for reconciliation to come to reality, an acknowledgement of the cause of division must be named; the action of the Holy Spirit brought forth is purifying fire of truth at its very heart.  We must acknowledge where we have failed in the eyes of God and in the eyes of humanity.  We must face ourselves as we are in our own misery and nothingness in order to reach the peace we desire in the grace of reconciling ourselves with God and our neighbor.  Only in this humility are we able to reach the ultimate goal of true union with God, with the Church, His Body.  There is much to realize in this encounter with ourselves; there is much to face in the reality of our very being.  We are nothing without God; the God who is love and mercy itself.  In the face of this reality, we come to a greater knowledge of who we are in the face of Christ.  In this face of Christ, we see our Savior and are aware of the unfathomable mercy He bestows on man in accepting the death of the Cross.  The ultimate icon of love is bestowed on man in the Cross; and until we unite ourselves to this Cross the reconciliation of man will not become real in the face of adversity.  We are in the Cross of Christ when we realize in ourselves the sin we have committed against the God of Love and the whole of humanity.  In this realization a deep awareness of our own misery becomes real and an abundant grace of truth and love becomes the source of true peace.  We must name the evil we have committed; we must voice it from our own lips in the purification of our own souls; until this happens the conversion of man is not possible.  The knowledge of this evil will only be revealed by the very being and inner conscience of man.  The conscience of man becomes alive when it is nourished by the doctrine of the faith and the magisteriam of the Church.  The truth of God will become alive in the soul who has set his soul towards this direction and then the reality of reconciliation between man and God becomes alive.  Until this knowledge is realized the age of relativism and mediocrity becomes the domineering factor in the souls of man and the true source of peace between man and God will not become a reality.  Until man realizes the depth of evil man is capable of and acknowledges it in his own misery; true humility of heart will not bring him to his knees in reconciliation with the Body of Christ.  We must name evil as evil and good as good.  Say yes when you mean yes, say no when you mean no; otherwise anything else comes from the evil one.

O Cross of Christ, You reveal to man the wonder of Your saving work in the whole of humanity by establishing a peace and reconciliation that is brought forth from our own acknowledgement of our own misery and evil.  We must not doubt the Cross that is powerful in its reality by the existence of supreme love You bestow on man in Your crucifixion.  In looking at You on the Cross, we acknowledge the evil we have committed and at the same time are faced with the intimacy of mercy You give us in our knowledge of our own misery.  In humility, we kneel before the cross seeking refuge and reconciliation with the God of love and mercy so that in turn we may find peace in our relationships with our neighbor and the whole of creation.  May we look to You, O Cross of Christ, as the source of healing in our own brokenness and misery.  May we look to You, O Cross of Christ, as the source of refuge and strength in a world that is in great need of Your mercy.  May we look to You, O Cross of Christ, as the ultimate and supreme icon of love that must be reflected in our very being so that all who witness our lives may encounter You in a most profound and intimate way towards peace and reconciliation among all mankind.  O Mother of the Crucified Christ, give us the humility to acknowledge our own nothingness and pray for us who have recourse to thee.  Amen.

The Question of Conscience and its AUTHENTICITY

“The 'fundamental question of youth,' John Paul continued, is the question of conscience and its authenticity. Conscience, the measure of human dignity, is, in a sense, the history of the world: 'For history is written not only by the events which in a certain sense happen ‘from outside’; it is written first of all ‘from inside’: it is the history of human consciences, or moral victories and defeats.' To develop one’s conscience authentically is the true measure of a human personality’s development.”  Witness to Hope by George Weigel

JMJ

The authenticity of love is born from a conscience developed and formed from the very depths of one’s dignity made in the image and likeness of God. The moral development in mankind comes forth from the inner being and formed by the grace of God who works in the soul who is molded by the work of His Divine Hand. The moral conscience is awakened in man during times of great challenge and trial; the response of man in eternal gratitude and inner audacity to cry to Him in desperate measures assures the consolation of God who man has placed his trust in Him. The relationship of man with the God who created him is ever formed by the response and grace of faith freely given to him from the God who is ever generous to those who call upon Him with all their heart, mind, soul and strength. The outer being is transformed by the indwelling of the Spirit molding him ever closer to union with the Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The development of love created from this union then shines forth in virtue and Christian character for the truest essence of human personality and development in moral victories. The development of grace in a soul that cooperates with the workings of Christ is a response of true freedom and a gift of faith, hope and charity. It is then that the true person made in the image and likeness of God reflects the love of Christ to all he encounters. Charity dominates his very being and transforms him through every outer event; a response that comes from the inner strength bestowed on Him by the grace of God. The development of one’s conscience geared towards a love for Christ and motivated by the spirit of the Living God present in the Most Blessed Sacrament draws man ever closer to Him and transforms and transfigures him. The moral conscience is awakened towards a greater good and an abhorrence towards what is evil. It is Christ who forms the soul to an ever newer and ever changing reality of what is eternally good and revives the soul for further growth in the Kingdom and the Salvation of Souls. To develop one’s conscience is the goal of every man who sets forth towards a higher good and an ever deeper union with the God of Love and Goodness.

O Christ, Redeemer and Savior present in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. I come before You as I am seeking refuge in Your eternal goodness. I seek You for all You are is good. I seek You for all You are is ever loving in eternal splendour. I seek You as I gaze at You in the Most Blessed Sacrament. Transform my soul into Your very image so that in my very being I may be a reflection of Your goodness and love to all I encounter in life. Transform me, O God, Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit so that Your Most Divine Indwelling may ever come alive in me more and more and the truest dignity of my life may flourish ever deeper. Transform me into Your eternal goodness and beauty reflected in this Most Awesome Sacrament alive and living reality for all those who take refuge in You, O Christ. Grant me the grace to seek only what is good and to abhor what is most offensive to You, O God. Transfigure my inner being so that all that is reflected outward may be a living image of You, O Eternal Goodness. In loving You, O God, may the very essence of my life be a praise and glory most pleasing to You, Christ, Redeemer and Savior. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, form me into the image of your Son who is love and goodness itself. Amen.
